Fe-Male and Plan International latest research study on “Period Poverty in Lebanon”. The study is the first to address women and girls’ perceptions around menstruation, the prevalence of period poverty, and the practices of girls and women in response to the Economic crisis on a national level.
This study presents insightful findings on the heavy impact of the multiples crisis on girls and women in Lebanon with regards to period poverty, it shows that more than 76% of are facing difficulties in accessing period products because of the sharp rise in prices, 79% had to change their consumption habits and most importantly that 36% of women and girls have suffered from physical symptoms because they could not buy the necessary period products and have access to hygiene ingredients. The study aims at guiding future programming and advocacy with regards to responding to Period poverty in Lebanon.
